Quick Bread Tea Sandwiches

When you want to channel your inner grandmother (which I do often), I suggest making these lovely tea sandwiches. The slightly sweetened cream cheese adds the perfect complement to delicious quick bread. You can also pack these up as a gift when making your holiday visits. All very old school and part of keeping some worthwhile traditions alive!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of your favorite quick bread (frozen or cold from the refrigerator is best for slicing)
  • 1 8 oz. package of cream cheese
  • 2 tbs granular sugar
  • 2 tbs of milk

Instructions

  • Combine the cream cheese, milk, and sugar in a mixing bowl and stir to mix.
  • Slice the bread into thin slices and use an offset spatula to spread a generous amount of the cream cheese across the surface of one slice. Then, top with another slice. Repeat until you have used up the cream cheese or the bread is gone.
  • Cut in half. Serve room temperature.
