Mixed Nuts
Buy the premium individual nuts and mix your own - it is worth the effort - and superior to buying the "dusty seconds" - which is what you get in pre-packaged mixed nut products offered in stores. If you are unlucky enough to buy the pre-packaged variety - just look at all the detritus that you are eating and serving. Broken fragments, covered in dusty remains of the premium packaging activities. Taking the time to prepare your own mixed nuts will demonstrate just how nuts you really are. And, by mixing your own nuts - you can alter the recipe to include the nuts you and your family prefer - and alter the recipe to include them in the proportion you prefer. Take control of your nuts!
Ingredients
- 1 lb salted roasted whole almonds, premium quality
- 1 lb salted roasted peanuts, premium quality
- 1 lb salted roasted whole cashews, premium quality
- 1 lb salted roasted pistashios, in the shell
- 1 lb salted roasted macadamia nuts, (optional)
Instructions
Shell the pistachios
- Shell all the pistachios, discarding the shells and reserving the nut meat
- combine the remaining nuts in a large bowl
- Toss the nuts and then tranfer to plastic containers and refridgerate one container and freeze the remainder of the containers for future use.
